Six Steps

We ask Congressperson Emanuel to take the Six Steps to Courageous Leadership:

  1. 72% of troops say it is time to come home. Support them.
  2. 68% of Americans say the war was wrong and the occupation must end. Speak for them.
  3. Americans are seeking courageous leadership on a clear plan to end the war. Stand up for them.
  4. Military leaders advise us that there is no military solution to the problems in Iraq. Listen to them.
  5. The majority of the Iraqi people believe the occupation must end. Tell them we will leave no bases behind.
  6. The world knows we must rebuild what we have broken. Fund the reconstruction, not the occupation.

We will be delivering these requests to Emanuel's office daily and attempting to meet with him.

The time is now. Stand Up, Speak Out, Stop the War!

We Are the Anti-War Majority

Anti-War Majority is a newly formed coalition of community, peace, religious and labor groups from across northern Illinois. Its campaign to bring the troops home includes a petition drive and a special focus on Congressman Hastert, Speaker of the House, and Congressman Rahm Emanuel, chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The aim of Anti-War Majority's campaign is to pressure Emanuel, Hastert and all members of the Illinois congressional delegation to represent the majority of citizens who want the troops home now. Recent polls reflect over 60% of Americans are dissatisfied with the war and over 70% of troops in Iraq believe they should exit within a year.
